🌟 Join Us in Celebrating an Extraordinary Journey! 🌟

Mountain Laurel, our cherished Dayton Hikers member and inspiring hike leader, is just three miles away from completing the awe-inspiring 1,444-mile Buckeye Trail! We invite you to lace up your hiking boots and join her as she triumphantly completes this monumental achievement on the iconic blue blazes. Let's make this celebration one for the books! πŸ₯Ύβœ¨πŸ’™

Her incredible journey began in January 2020, at the Dayton Hikers Buckeye Trail Winter Hike & Potluck Feast at Caesar Creek State Park. Since then, Mountain Laurel has embarked on a staggering 205 treks along the Buckeye Trail, conquering 1,086 miles on foot and cycling an additional 358 miles. Her actual mileage soars even higher, as many of her adventures involved solo, out-and-back treks. πŸ’™πŸ“…πŸš΅β€β™€οΈ

Meet at the end of the park road near the restrooms. We will hike from Eastwood MetroPark with Mountain Laurel leading the way to downtown Dayton on the blue blazes of the Buckeye Trail following the Mad River bike path. At Deeds Point MetroPark her journey will be complete. Here, we will celebrate her amazing accomplishment with some sweet treats. πŸŽ‚πŸͺπŸŽ‰

Join us in celebrating her incredible accomplishment! πŸŽ‰πŸ†

The one-way distance is three miles. Moderate pace. Wear comfortable footwear.

After the hike, you have several options for returning to your car:

  1. Walk back
  2. Come with a friend and park a car at Deeds Point MetroPark on Deeds Park Drive before the hike. Map link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TmbRg8fmGwHU7eA38
