Join the Dayton Hikers group for a winter hike on the Buckeye Trail and a potluck feast at Caesar Creek State Park. The location for this event is the visitor center at Caesar Creek. Be part of the oldest winter hike on the Buckeye Trail in southwest Ohio.

POTLUCK FEAST

* Bring a dish to share.
* Bring a water bottle. Water is available at fountains and faucets.

We will enjoy a hearty meal after a day of winter hiking. Bring a pot of chili, a crock pot dish, a side dish, a dessert, or a food item to share with the group. Please remember to bring your serving utensils. Electric outlets, oven and refrigerator are available. The feast will be served 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, whenever the hikes end.

Dayton Hikers will provide plates, bowls, napkins, utensils, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

BUCKEYE TRAIL WINTER HIKES:

There will be several hikes to choose from ranging from 4 miles to 13 miles in length. Pick the hike that is best for you! Enjoy the beautiful winter scenery of Caesar Creek State Park and the Buckeye Trail. All hikes will use a portion of the Buckeye Trail for their route. The hikes have varying start times and will end in time for the potluck feast.

SPECIAL GUESTS & SHORT PRESENTATIONS:

✨ Come meet and hike with Maureen Gatewood. Maureen is president of the Buckeye Trail Association and the great-granddaughter of Grandma Gatewood. Maureen will give us a short presentation on "All Things Buckeye Trail."

✨ Back by popular demand is Tiffany DeChant-Hunt. Tiffany is the park manager of Caesar Creek State Park. Tiffany will give us a short presentation on "All Things Caesar Creek."

Tear down: Volunteers are needed for tear down and clean up. We must do everything ourselves. By 4:00 pm we must be cleaned up, have the lights off, and vacated.

LEARNING CENTER AT CAESAR CREEK:

The perfect place for our winter hike and potluck feast! It is located right on the blue blazes of the Buckeye Trail! The Conference Room is a beautiful and well-equipped place. The room has ample space for over 100 people, plenty of tables, and chairs, a modern kitchen, restrooms, and lots of parking. The Visitor Center is attached and features interpretive displays, ongoing short movies, and a gift shop with trail maps.
