Title: Bikepacking the KATY Trail

Presenter: Cami and Jordan Hart

Program Description: Dayton locals Jordan and Camee Hart will talk about their exciting 240 mile bike journey on Missouri’s Katy Trail. They will share pictures and stories from this scenic and historic old train route that often runs alongside the great Missouri River and in parts even traces the path of famed explorers Lewis and Clark. Hear what happened when a seasoned bike tourer and a rookie head out for a multi-day bike trip. Jordan and Camee will discuss bike touring on gravel, discovering small town charms, and dining at Casey’s General Store.

Bios: Jordan is an Outdoor Recreation Coordinator for Five Rivers MetroParks helping to support cycling, backcountry and paddling programs in Dayton, Ohio the Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest! He has a background in photography, is a local scout leader and has a passion for bicycle touring, logging over 10,000 miles including a ride from Owen Sound, Ontario Canada to Mobile, Alabama on the Underground Railroad Bicycle Route.

Camee is the Outreach Services Manager for Dayton Metro Library's Outreach Services Department. When she isn't driving the Bookmobile or delivering books for work, she is outside biking, hiking, canoeing, and camping. She has been a Girl Scout leader for over 7 years and has led girls backpacking, sea kayaking, skiing, and many other adventures.
