Let's get together and explore the unique neighborhoods and areas that Dayton and vicinity have to see.

For this Urban let's go back to The Pinnacles Trail in Moraine.

The Pinnacle Trail was completed in 2024 by the City of Moraine. The Wright Brothers would come to this location, sit on the cliffs (pinnacles, which are no longer there), and watch birds.

Watching the birds flap their wings gave them ideas on how to make the wings on their planes work.

This trail is 1.1 miles out and back. There are some twists and turns and some slight rolling hills. There is also a deep gorge. I suggest at least 1 hiking pole, sturdy shoes, water etc.

Let's meet at Deer Meadow Park. This is a beautiful park with a pond and a nice shelter. You can fish here so bring you poles if you want.

We will walk from Deer Meadow on the bike path for about 1/2 mile to the trail head. Then the Pinnacle Trail is 1.1 miles out and back.

There are several markers on the trail to stop and read about the brothers and what they did here at the Pinnacles.

This will be a total of about 3 miles.
Pace: About 2.5-2.7mph

Bring your lunch and after the hike let's relax and eat lunch at the shelter. After lunch we could walk on the bike path to Possum Creek Metro Park if we feel like it.

I drive a green Chevrolet Equinox with black wheels.
