Celebrate the adventures of our Dayton Hikers members with a 4.25-mile, moderate-paced hike, followed by cider, donuts, and fresh fruit. We have a lot to celebrate!
This year, Dayton Hikers members have traveled near and far in pursuit of what we love most—hiking. From neighborhood trails to epic long-distance journeys, our members have embraced adventure, challenged themselves, and created unforgettable memories.
📍Charley Schuerholz and Rosemary D'Aloia completed 550 miles of hiking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
📍Our fearless leader, Andy "Captain Blue" Niekamp, finished a 500-mile backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon. He also walked 170 miles on the Camino de Santiago in Portugal and Spain.
📍Sheila Haas and Tom Truster completed 376 miles of hiking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
📍Jim Heintz completed 175 miles of hiking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
📍Tim and Patty Ryan completed 117 miles of hiking on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
📍Karen Power completed a seven-day, 95-mile, solo hike on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia and North Carolina and backpacked in Hawaii.
📍Candy Arndts completed half of the Appalachian Trail over multiple years and multiple section hikes.
