Maryland AT, Pen-mar park to south of Frederick

We will meet at the rt.40 AT Trail head and leave half the cars there, driving north to our starting point at Pen-mar park. After taking in the view at Pen-mar, we will journey south 10 miles before stopping at a popular AT campsite and shelter where we can enjoy fire into the evening.

Day 2 we will continue another 8 miles, stopping to take in the black rock and Annapolis rock overlooks.

If interest is shown, we will stop at a local restaurant for a group meal on the way back toward the city. Usually either Tex-mex or BBQ at one of Frederick's locally owned establishments is a big hit after two days on the trail. :-)
