Seneca Creek Backcountry Trail Maintenance

Details
This trip is for trail maintenance in the Seneca Creek Backcountry which has cool weather for summer and great campsites for all of us to stay in. There is great fishing in Spruce Knob Lake, Seneca and Gandy Creeks and that gorgeous high mountain backcountry to enjoy! I will also lead a trip through Sinks of Gandy Cave on Sunday, which is an adventure in itself! If you are going through the cave, bring swimming trunks (or shorts along with a tee shirt you can get muddy), water shoes, towel , soap, and a strong flashlight, all for a job well done on the trails! This is a trip I have done for years for friends and family and the last few years for the group and has always been a summer favorite. As always we will have a feast on Saturday for dinner (lots of great Dutch oven cooking, details to follow), so about $30 a head will buy you 2 breakfasts, superb dinner, and campsite for the weekend, with great times lingering far into the evening. Our camp has a superb location on the back side of Spruce Knob on Gandy Creek, so cool evenings are guaranteed. If you have not been to Seneca Creek Backcountry let me tell you it has some of the wildest, highest and most beautiful country in the Eastern U.S.! As usual on Sunday, we will do our usual cave wading tour, so come prepared with water shoes, bathing suit, towel and spare dry clothes as your reward for a job well done!
So let's clear out those deadfalls we saw on our backpacking trips in January and April, put up some blue diamond blazes and do some brushing and give back to another beautiful area where the Potomac River reaches it's highest headwaters, in the clear cool mountain air high up on the back side of Spruce Knob in West Virginia for another great cool summer weekend you will not forget!
