Good Vibes Only: Lan Party & 'Points for Style' Game Challenge

DCGG’s Slayers Club is throwing a LAN Party! We'll be hosting some free play game space and running a POINTS FOR STYLE CHALLENGE in one of our favorite FPS games, a casual tournament that rewards style, adaptability, and good sportsmanship. Don’t pack your sweat band. This is a seriously unserious session. It's a party first, competition second.

This is a paid event. You will need to buy a ticket in order to attend. If you’re a Supporting Member (via Patreon), you can buy a discounted ticket on the DC GAMING GROUP patreon

PART 2: 3 - 6 FREE PLAY

Suggested Games to have prepped and downloaded:

• POINTS FOR STYLE CHALLENGE game if you want to participate: To Be announced
• Games you might want to have to link up during “free play”: Mecha Break, Helldivers 2, Rocket League, Gang Beasts, Party Animals, Witch It, Peak

What to Bring:

• Portable game consoles and accessories
• Gaming PC / laptop / handheld and whatever accessories you need to make them work
• Consoles
• Monitor and HDMI
• Grounded Extension cords

We'll tag your gear with barcode stickers to check you in/out. YOU are responsible for your own equipment.

Do I need to bring equipment?
DCGG will provide some popup arcade equipment and extra controllers, all available first-come first-serve.

Where does the money go?
- 85% rental and insurance - An event like this cannot be set up in a bar. It requires dedicated space and the support of the space’s teams
- 2% Fees, overhead equipment, supplies and admin costs (Meetup, fees, marketing)
- 10% equipment (mostly the cost of moving it around to avoid buying and storing duplicate items)
- 3% Silly little prizes

How Points For Style Arena Works:

• There’s 4 kinds of tokens you can earn: Style, Challenge, Guardian and Built Different
• Challenge and Guardian are considered chaos tokens because they affect gameplay by applying effects.
• We’ll crowd source a list of effects players can choose from for Challenge and Guardian chaos effects.

How chaos tokens affect gameplay:

• Challenge effects apply to the Challenged player no matter who they face
• Guardian effects apply to any player who faces the Guarded player
• Guarded players will be asked to use their most unique operator/skin

How tokens are earned
After each match:

• We'll put up a poll. You'll vote to award Style tokens to players who impressed you with clutch plays, clippable moments, hilarious bloopers, or just being awesome to play with
• Hosts will award chaos tokens to keep games competitive and fun
• Top performers get a Challenge token - these are badges of honor for being skilled enough to play on hard mode
• Players who need a boost will get a Guardian token
• Manage to top the leaderboard while Challenged? Get a Built Different token for being unstoppable!

At the end, hosts tally up the tokens and hand out prizes and titles.
