An introduction to the data science workflow in Python

• What we'll do
Are you interested in a career in data science? Have you heard of pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Jupyter, and matplotlib, but you're not sure how it all fits together? Do you have a background in data analysis in other languages - R, SPSS, SAS, Stata - but don't know how to port those skills over to Python?
This is a workshop for women interested in conducting data analysis in Python cohosted by PyLadies DC and Women Data Scientists DC (https://www.meetup.com/WomenDataScientistsDC/). It will cover the typical data science workflow, and will include a brief introduction to a few popular libraries used by many data folks today. (Note: It will not cover statistics, machine learning, and general data analysis! Alas.)
The workshop will be a presentation, followed by some hands-on exercises. Please bring a laptop, with Python (ideally 3+, but 2.7 is fine) pre-installed.
Refreshments sponsored by Optoro (http://www.optoro.com/).
