Clarendon to Windy Run, to Roosevelt Is, to Arlignton Cem. to Rosslyn ~8.5 mi

Let's go to Coa Falls and walk along the Potomac Heritage Trail to Roosevelt Island, and then head through a portion of Arlington Cemetery to Rosslyn!

Route:

• Start at the Clarendon Metro Station
• Walk southwest on Wilson Blvd towards Washington Blvd and take a right
• Walk on Washington Blvd and take a right on N Kirkwood Rd
• Walk on N Kirkwood and cross the road at the crosswalk after 15 St N (note that 15th will be on the opposite side of the street)
• Walk on the path around the school and take a right at N Lincoln St
• After the bridge, take a right to get onto the Curtis Trail
• Head north on the trail until after the pedestrian bridge crossing Langston Blvd
• Continue onto N Irving St, and take a right onto 22nd St N
• Take a left onto N Fillmore St, follow until Lorcom Ln, cross the street and take a left
• Follow Lorcom Ln until N Kenmore St and take a right
• Follow N Kenmore until it turns into the Windy Run Trail, follow trail till the falls
• Take a right onto the Potomac Heritage Trail
• Follow the Heritage Trail till Roosevelt Island
• Walk across the Theodore Roosevelt Island Bridge
• On the Island take a left onto the Swamp Trail, we will follow this trail around the perimeter of the island
• After the swamp, we will take a right and then the first left to get onto the Upland Trail towards the monument
• We will then leave the island and walk southbound on the Mt. Vernon trail
• After the Memorial Bridge, we will take our first right, and follow this new trail to Arlington Cemetery and Memorial Ave.
• Continue on Memorial Ave. till Schley Dr. and take a right
• Follow till Custis walk and take a right
• Follow Custis walk till Marshall Dr, and take a left
• Take a right at the Belltower and continue till the Marine Corps Memorial
• Cross over to N Meade St, and take a right
• Follow N Meade till Fort Myer Dr
• Follow Fort Meyer to the metro
• Finish at the Rosslyn Metro Station

Time: 9AM-1PM
Terrain: Please note that while there will be a little elevation change, the terrain on the PHT can be uneven at times, so please only join this walk if you feel comfortable with this. The rest of the walk will be mostly flat on paved or gravel ground and dirt trails on the island.
