Join us for our monthly meetup! This month's speaker is Evelyn and she will presenting their talk safety in numbers - resilient communities through peer to peer networks. How can we re-imagine online platforms in a world of surveillance, censorship, and corporate centralization of the web?
A talk about building secure peer-to-peer applications on Veilid - a framework by the Cult of the Dead Cow - using my project Intersect as a case study: a way to securely publish notes with no account, no server, and no one in the middle. We'll get into how it works, why "safety in numbers" turns out to mean three different things at once, and (network gods willing) a live demo.

Evelyn has been at the intersection of software engineering and hacking for her entire life, steeped in cypherpunk ideals. this led her to the world of cryptography and decentralized software, where she became an active contributor to the Veilid project. when not behind her computer, you may find her at the zen monastery or drinking tea in the woods.
