Please RSVP using this link: https://wclawyers.org/pbw19-coding-justice/ (RSVPs on Meetup will not be transferred to the WCL event).

Coding Justice is a DC Pro Bono Week collaboration event between social-justice nonprofits and the tech world, in partnership with Washington Council of Lawyers, DC Legal Hackers, Access to Justice Tech Fellows, and Dechert LLP. Members of the legal community join tech-savvy volunteers to explore tech solutions to legal problems.

The Problem: This year, Coding Justice is collaborating with DC Kincare Alliance to tackle a problem that centers on barriers to benefits from the DC Department of Human Services Economic Security Administration. DC KinCare Alliance seeks to achieve a future where all DC children live in a safe and stable home. The organization supports kin caregivers (usually grandparents or other relatives) who raise children in crisis.

For this event, we are looking for volunteers from both the legal community and the tech world and lawyers from all sectors are welcome. In particular, we’re looking for tech volunteers with computer science or civic hacking experience in the following areas:

Design thinking
Data management
Technology solutions
Technical design

A light dinner will be provided to nourish our creative problem-solving.

And join the conversation on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook using#DCProBono19!
