Join us and Founder Alyssa Vasquez of YouBelong as you make progress on your side project (hobby, freelance, startup, academic, etc). We are excited to have the Inclusive Incubator hosting us for the 1st time. • What to bring: Creative, conversational, and productive energy + stickies, paper prototyping, to-do list, smiles, laptops, and anything constructive! • Agenda: 7:00pm - snack & chat w/ BiPartisan Baking 7:30pm - 30 second intros 7:45pm - Alyssa Vasquez shares her story with startup YouBelong. (About 7-15 mins). Until 10pm - open coworking and networking. • About YouBelong and Alyssa (https://www.youbelong.site/about): YouBelong is a web-based platform that connects individuals to local church communities. It's like online dating, except online “churching”. On average, it takes someone six months to a year to look for a community that they can become a part of. For Alyssa, it took 3 years when she moved from Philadelphia to Washington, DC. Google experiences an average of 25 million church-related inquires a month, why not help a fraction of those individuals find a community where they belong? • How we can help: Alyssa is currently seeking a partner with a technological background who is passionate about community and believes in the YouBelong idea. She is seeking someone who can do the front-end/back-end and maintenance of the product for equity in the company. YouBelong currently has an interest database of 50 churches and growing in the DC and Philadelphia area. There's an average of 2,000 churches per city in the United States, presenting a lot of opportunity. • Big thank you to In3DC (https://www.in3dc.com/): The Inclusive Innovation Incubator is DC's first community space dedicated to inclusion, innovation, and incubation.

    What we're about

We are an open community of adventurous self-starters turning big ideas into exciting projects. We do this by organizing open creativity and productivity sessions around town. Occasionally, we do optional side hacks, roundtables, and creative exercises at our sessions. If you have a project or work remotely, join us!

We've been to.... a White House Innovation Summit (https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/eop/sicp), The Artisphere (http://www.meetup.com/dcnightowls/events/222117812/), The Capitol (http://www.meetup.com/dcnightowls/events/125641912/), and many other places in our awesome city.
