Current agenda: Programming the Cloud, Custom Ink's Serverless Story by Ken Collins

Learn how thinking big with AWS Lambda and moving to full-stack serverless with existing web application frameworks like Rails could help your personal or company's cloud adoption. After 20 years in business, 13 on Rails, Custom Ink has a unique take on the monolith vs. microservices discussion. One driven by business success to identify our architectural ley lines and a company culture of caring and empowering our engineering teams. This will be the start to your journey of learning how to "program the cloud".

Ken is a longtime DMV Ruby community member & a Staff Engineer at CustomInk. He is a Rails contributor and also a maintainer of the Lamby framework for integrating Lambda & Rails, which just announced its 2.0 release!

We now meet online through the attached Zoom! We have a waiting room enabled for security, but we promise we'll let you in!

Please note our Code of Conduct: https://github.com/joshsz/organization_documents/blob/master/dcrug/CodeOfConduct.md

We always need presenters, so if you have a topic or project on which you'd like to do a 30-minute presentation on anything Ruby-related, Rails-related or possibly of interest to Ruby developers, please contact our organizers info@dcrug.org and we'll schedule you to speak. If you have presented before, you are welcome to give a presentation on a new topic. This is a great chance for some of you guys and gals lingering in the back of the room to share some of the cool things you are working on. Don't be shy -- you're among fellow geeks. :)
