Local Dive: Lake Phoenix

Details

Join us for a local dive at Lake Phoenix.

This will be a quick one-day trip to shake the cob webs off the gear and get people back in the water. Come out and dive as many dives as you would like. I will do between 2 and 3 dives myself, depending on how I feel and what people want to do. I am planning for 1 deep dive, but don't necessarily need to do that. Remember, Lake Phoenix is only 60 ft deep, so a "deep dive" in lake Phoenix just means below the thermocline, but even an Open Water diver is trained and certified to go all the way to the bottom.

Divers are welcome to come with me on my dives or go off on their own. I am not "leading" a dive from a professional aspect. I am not a dive professional. We are just friends diving together. Everyone is responsible for diving within their own training and comfort level. We will get you paired up with buddy teams if you come without one (or just don't like the one you came with)

Lake Phoenix is about 2 hrs and 45 minutes from Springfield, just past Petersburg, in Rawlings, VA.

On this trip, you will need to bring your own lunch, snacks, and beverages. There are some limited concessions at the Lake if you are so inclined.

I'm planning on leaving around 6:00 AM to get there before 9:00 AM, but the lake opens at 8:00 AM you can get there early if you like. Let me know if you need help with logistics or if you want to follow in a car train from Springfield.

You will have to pay for your own entrance fee and scuba tank (or bring you own). If you need to rent a tank, and are planning on doing more than one dive, Id recommend renting from Lake Phoenix as their tanks are unlimited. If you don't have your own dive gear, you can rent from Lake Phoenix, or from your Local Dive Shop (LDS).

I will request a pavilion. I will let you know if one is available.

For any other information or logistics, feel free to email me at RockTheDiver@gmail.com, or Whatsapp me at 703-801-3154. You can also call me, but if you aren't already in my phonebook, I let it roll over to my VM and call back later (I get too many spam calls to answer the phone every time it rings)

Please go to the Lake Phoenix Web te to sign the wavers, which you must do before diving. You can do it there if you forget, but you will save a lot of time doing this beforehand. hhttps://www.lakephoenixva.com
If this is your first time at Lake Phoenix this year, you will also need to watch the video.
