Bonaire Info Session & Belize Planning Session
Details
This meeting will have 2 topics.
- Bonaire Trip July 25 – August 1
Bonaire is known as the Shore Diving Capital of the World. On this trip we will have a mix of shore and boat dives, as some of the best sites are accessible by boat only. Included in the trip is unlimited shore diving with either air or Nitrox, so it will be one of the few shore-based locations where you can get as many dives as a live-a-board. While most people get to dive 10 to 15 dives from a shore-based resort, most people get to dive over 20 dives in a week on Bonaire. This makes Bonaire one of the best values for the money and helps those that are trying to maximize their dive time and number of dives.
In this session we will talk about the schedule, the resort, all of the amenities and some of the dive sites we intend to visit.
2) Its time to plan our 4th Quarter dive trip. We are looking at the Belize Aggressor with 2 options and want to get feedback from the community. If we have other options suggested, we can look at those, but if we decide before this Friday, we will get a $500 club discount on any Aggressor boat.
We are looking at departure dates either the first 2 Saturdays in December at this point, or over New Years Eve. Let us know.
Option 1 is the Belize Aggressor III. We did this boat in 2024 with 10 divers, and everyone agreed it was the best diving anyone had seen in a long time in the Caribbean. The Belize itinerary will include Turneffe and Lighthouse Reef where guests will dive sheer walls like Painted Wall, Half Moon Caye Wall and Quebrada plus the famous Blue Hole. The walls are filled with huge crimson gorgonians and giant orange elephant ear sponges. Guests will also explore the Blue Hole, a 1000-foot wide, 400-foot deep, collapsed cave system. Midweek, guests can go ashore to Half Moon Caye for a walk on the beach and a tour of the bird sanctuary. Here you can observe Red-footed Booby and Frigate Birds, and a lighthouse built in 1848.
Option 2 is the NEW Belize Aggressor V. This is a new itinerary, and the boat was just repositioned to Belize from the Bahamas. The Belize Aggressor V itinerary includes the pristine waters of Placencia and Glovers Reef where guests will explore the dramatic wall dives along the eastern edge and the gentle sloping reefs to the west. A maze of swim-throughs and pinnacles reveals thriving marine ecosystems filled with colorful nudibranchs, a variety of macro critters, nurse sharks, and the occasional rare batfish and/or toadfish. During this charter, the liveaboard will also visit South Water Caye, Gladden Spit Silk Cakes, and Laughing Bird National Park.
