Presentation on Ethereum @ Homestead by local developer Bob Summerwill (http://bobsummerwill.com/about), who works on the Ethereum C++ client team (http://github.com/ethereum/webthree-umbrella), and on porting Ethereum (http://github.com/doublethinkco/webthree-umbrella-cross) to mobile, wearables and other resource-limited devices (http://doublethink.co/2016/02/23/we-have-blockgrantx-funding/).

And we will also be doing some practical STUFF, so bring your laptops :-)
Read more about Homestead in Jeff's official post (https://blog.ethereum.org/2016/02/29/homestead-release/).

Check out the Homestead Documentation (http://docs.ethereum.org) which is coming together nicely.
And please do install some of the following client software and get your block-chain synced up BEFORE the event:
EVERYONE SHOULD GET Mist (GUI Browser):
Download Mist Ethereum Wallet-0.5.1 (https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/tag/0.5.1)
If you want to get some ETH, the easier method is BTC->ETC exchange with ShapeShift (https://shapeshift.io/).

And you may also want to get one or both of these official Homestead-compatible command-line clients too:
• geth-1.3.5 (https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/releases/tag/v1.3.5) (go)
• eth-1.2.1 (https://github.com/ethereum/webthree-umbrella/releases/tag/v1.2.1) (C++)
Or unofficial Homestead-compatible clients:
• EthereumJ-1.2.0-RC (https://github.com/ethereum/ethereumj/releases/tag/1.2.0-homestead-RC) (Java)
• Parity (https://ethcore.io/parity.html) (Rust) - don't have final Homestead version yet, but surely will have before Pi Day.
