Learn what goes into putting together an art exhibition, and why the art of seeing is an act of leadership. This session is part one of a three-part series that will qualify you to prepare for a guest curator slot at the Grove Gallery (winter/spring/fall 2016), if desired. You also have the option to help hang the next show going up in the Grove Gallery in early February. No arts background required!
This session is Part One: Aesthetics - we will play a tabletop game simulating curation of an art exhibit. If you've ever played Uno or Concentration, you can play this. 90 minutes
Two other sessions are scheduled on Jan 29 and Feb 12.
Any one session may be sampled free-of-charge. The cost for the entire three-part series includes completion certificate and a blogpost about your exhibition concept. Timeslots for the upcoming 2016 gallery season are limited, and will fill up.
To see what exhibitions have already been scheduled in the space, here is a recap (http://artsinterstices.com/2015/07/07/the-grove-gallery-recap-of-the-exhibitions-to-date/). In training guest curators, we seek out and embrace a range of diverse voices, backgrounds and perspectives.
One-on-one trainings may also be scheduled at your convenience, for you and a partner, or for your entire team.
