Async Messaging in CQRS / Part 2: Akka.net
CQRS is a pattern for separating the read and write models of a system. In Async Messaging in CQRS / Part 1: MassTransit (https://www.meetup.com/dddgreece/events/235074344/) we settled the ground and cleared up misconceptions.
In this part, we’ll briefly introduce the actor model and Akka.NET, an actor framework for building distributed, highly concurrent and fault-tolerant systems. We’ll then show how async messaging is utilised for building resiliency into a CQRS system using both MassTransit (see Part 1) and Akka.Net and try to conclude on when to use the one over the other.
As in Part 1, the discussion will be done on code examples of the CargoTracker sample.
