# About Event Sourcing
Event-sourcing remains a hot topic in the industry, it enables a lot of possibilities to build reactive microservices that scale and collect a lot of useful data, which also serves as a full audit log. We strive to build domain models that not only contain data but also express behaviour. Event-sourcing allows is to actually capture behaviour in a database and literally observe what is going on in the system, at any time in the past or present.
However, many warn about technical complexity and challenges on this road. This introduction will demonstrate how proper event stream database combined with pattern matching can make this journey doable
# About the Speaker
Alexey Zimarev ( @Zimareff ) is a software architect and developer with the present focus on domain models, domain-driven design (DDD), SOA and microservices, coaching and mentoring.
Alexey is also a contributor to MassTransit open-source messaging framework, maintainer of the RestSharp library, conference speaker, organiser of the Domain-Driven Design Norway meetup and author of the Practical Domain-Driven Design with C# book, which is expected to be published in January 2019 by Packt.
