Hello DDDers,

It's been a while, but it's time for our next event, where we will be welcoming one of the most active members of the DDD / CQRS / ES community and international speaker, Oskar Dudycz!

We also have some presents for you, but you have to act quickly! We have two tickets for the Devoxx Greece 2023 conference that takes place next week, May 4-6 at Megaron Athens. If you are interested, please fill in the google form by Tuesday, May 2, at noon (GR time) - that's when the draw will take place!

DDD EU swag will also be available on a first come - first served basis to some lucky DDDers during the meetup!

It's not the first time we host Oskar Dudycz - but this time we'll have the pleasure to have him present in person, as he will be in Athens as a speaker for Devoxx!

Facts and Myths about CQRS

CQRS is considered an over-complicated and academic pattern. The type of pattern that is nice to see at a conference talk but not necessarily used at work. There are many myths around it that it requires messaging tools, two databases, eventual consistency, event sourcing, etc. During the talk, Oskar will bust those myths and distil the essence of CQRS. CQRS can be simple, pragmatic and completely practical.

Q&A
After the above talk, we will open the floor for any questions about CQRS, event sourcing and Domain-Driven Design.

The event will be in English.

Oskar is an active open-source developer and one of the Marten library maintainers. He's sharing his journey and findings on his blog https://event-driven.io, Architecture Weekly newsletter https://www.architecture-weekly.com/ and practical samples at https://github.com/oskardudycz.
