Hello DDDers,

It seems November is a busy month! Next Thursday, less than a week after our presence as a community at the Open Conf conference, we are returning to the fabulous space of our friends at Dialectica for our next meetup!

We will start with a talk from our long time member and friend George Charitakis who was kind enough to organize our last event in Thessaloniki. He will be talking about how monoliths are not dead - in fact they're thriving! Afterwards, Kostas Stroggylos will do the second part (code demo) of his presentation on message design in EDA.
After the presentation and discussion, stick around for some networking with pizza and drinks, generously offered by our hosts.

Talk: "The Elegant Monolith: Modern Application Architecture with Spring Modulith"

Did you know that monoliths don’t have to be messy? Learn how to structure your app into clean, enforceable modules & keep things under control.

P.S. Monoliths Are Not Dead yet!

Speaker

Hi! I'm George, Software & Cloud Architect at PRODYNA. I've actively contributed to various projects & products, with a proven track record in DevOps. My keen interest lies in exploring novel tools & theoretical approaches within programming paradigms, as I believe that they make choices of technology stacks more transparent.

Demo time: Message design patterns and tradeoffs in EDA and DDD

Continuing from the theoretical part we discussed in our last meetup at Dialectica, we'll examine how different approaches to structuring messages affect not just the code but also the team's ability to reason about, evolve, and operate the system. We'll pay special attention to how we can achieve the same outcomes across different message brokers and cloud-native messaging solutions.

Speaker

Kostas Stroggylos is a principal software engineer, currently fighting legacy and architecting novel software solutions at Kaizen Gaming. When not getting his hands dirty with code, he studies the sociotechnical aspects of complex systems and likes to challenge assumptions and existing practices. He is passionate about organizational agility and fast flow. He serves as a volunteer and committee member for Devoxx Greece, an organizer for Better Ways (ex Agile Summit) and co-organizes Domain Driven Design Greece.
