UPDATE 4/20/26 6:06P -- THIS EVENT ON 4/21/26 IS CANCELED :( Looks like it will be raining through much of the night and day tomorrow. So... I'll still set the Reiki intentions for health, peace and self-kindness. You can access these energies any time tomorrow by sitting quietly and intentionally, perhaps with an open-ended question or openness to your higher self. Wishing all well, Lecia Basically, if it not snowing, raining heavily and without lightening/thunder, we're probably still on. But always make your choice align with your needs and preferences. * It's great to RSVP so we know if you may be on your way.

You don't need to commit to a full retreat to go deeper. Just come to the meetup. If it clicks, stay for the retreat. Most people want to meditate more. They just don't have the space to actually sit. This is that space. — **WHAT THIS IS** A same-day meditation experience that starts with a free meetup and continues into an optional retreat. Show up for the part that fits you. • The Meetup (First 2 Hours) — show up, learn to meditate, practice, meet people. Free and open to everyone. • The Retreat (Rest of the Day) — stay after the meetup for breathwork, deeper instruction, and extended practice. No need to decide in advance. Come to the meetup. If you want to go deeper, just stay. — **HOW THE DAY WORKS** **THE MEETUP — First 2 Hours (Open to Everyone)** This is where the day starts. Everyone is welcome. • Light arrival and connection • Basic introduction to meditation • Guided practice • Networking and community No experience needed. You'll leave feeling grounded — and if you're feeling it, the retreat picks up right after. **THE RETREAT — Continues Right After the Meetup** This is where things go deeper. After the meetup, the retreat picks up right where you left off — starting with a guided breathwork session that most people say is the highlight of the day. **Hour 1 — Breathwork** • Guided breathwork session to settle in and go deeper • No experience needed — you'll be guided the whole way • This resets your system and transitions you into sustained practice **Hour 2 — Foundations of Meditation** • Clear, simple instruction on the fundamentals • What meditation actually is and how to do it • Common obstacles and how to work with them **Extended Practice** • Alternating sitting and walking meditation • Longer periods of quiet practice • Light guidance to stabilize attention • Q&A and integration — **WHO THIS IS FOR** • You've been meaning to meditate more consistently • You want a simple way to get started • You're curious what a longer meditation day feels like • Or you just want a calm space to reset You don't need to be good at meditation. You just need to show up. — **RECOMMENDED CONTRIBUTION:** If the day meant something to you, we welcome a contribution. Recommended: $50–$100 for the full day Contribution Link: Venmo.com/meditationcommunity Don't have venmo, click the donate button on our website: MeditationCommunity.org Every dollar goes directly to keeping these events running. — **WHAT TO BRING** • Comfortable clothes • Water bottle • Lunch or plan to grab something nearby (for retreat attendees) • Cushion or pillow (very important) — **YOUR INSTRUCTOR** Brandon C. Life gets loud. This is your monthly invitation to pause. Join us for a guided meditation inside the infrared sauna at HWX Brushy Creek. We use the heat as a space to slow down—through gentle breath, loving-kindness, and quiet presence—so you can release what’s been building and return to yourself. **The experience includes:** * 30 minutes of guided meditation in the sauna * A few moments to soften, reset, and integrate **Meditation + Infrared Heat** The combination of meditation and infrared heat creates something unique— a space where the body releases and the mind settles. Some people describe it as “therapy without talking.” If you’ve never been to HOTWORX before, this is a simple and welcoming way to experience the studio—no workout required. No meditation experience needed. Just come as you are. * To keep the space intentional and comfortable, this session is limited to 5 participants. If it fills, you’re welcome to join the waitlist * Please arrive a few minutes early to complete the facility waiver **—** Guided by Sam Neseim, meditation teacher, coach, and owner of HOTWORX Brushy Creek. Wear layers when it's cold so that you can adjust your clothing as you warm up and cool down. Please refrain from wearing perfume and other fragrances. Cost: No charge. Donations are gratefully accepted! Click [here](http://yogameditationgroup.org/donations/) for ways to donate. Location: Yoga Meditation Group, 13740 Research Blvd., Bldg T, Unit 3, Austin, 78750 Yoga Asana is the physical practice of yoga that includes exercises, breathing, and relaxation. The purpose of Yoga Asana isn't fitness. It is, in part, to take care of the body as our vehicle; and although this may include fitness, it should never be defined by it. Yoga Asana practice gives us the opportunity to become aware of the body and the life force within the body, helping us to experience that we are not the body but rather the eternal being within the body who needs fulfillment on a level that the body cannot satisfy. This experience can then lead us to the deeper yoga practices, which are centered around meditation (the heart of yoga) and spiritual inquiry about our eternal identity and purpose. All of our meditation classes are free and are listed here on Meetup. Let us know if you have any questions. Namaste. NOTE: We do not require masks. We believe it is important to be able to breathe freely while practicing yoga asana and meditation. If you are not comfortable with this, we have links we can send you that may be helpful in practicing at home. YogaMeditationGroup.org info@YogaMeditationGroup.org (512) 774-4964
