Rescuing legacy codebases with GraphQL and Rails
Very little is talked about GraphQL outside of the realm of front-end applications. Netto will share the story of how he leveraged GraphQL as an integration layer to build the next generation of the IFTTT product. IFTTT now uses GraphQL to power 5 different apps and serve over 10k queries per minute.
____________
Bootstrapping, Prediction, Adaptation
Dan will talk about bootstrapping a seven-figure business alone and without investment, predicting the future course of your industry, and proactively adapting or reinventing your business. He will also discuss the benefits of competition to innovation and development, and explain how failures can become opportunities for discovery.
Dan Benjamin is a software developer and podcaster. He's the founder of the 5by5 Podcast Network, Archer Avenue, a podcast sales agency, and Fireside, a podcast hosting and analytics platform.
In a past life, he was a corporate stooge and CTO of several startups including Rails Machine. He’s written for A List Apart and O’Reilly, made screencasts for PluralSight, and has been coding for almost two decades.
