About us

This group is not elitist; it simply aims to create connections between people who have depth, think wisely, have a voracious intellect, and a sensitive heart. If small talk feels exhausting and depleting but heart-centered and/or intellectual small group conversations give you a sense of joy and belonging, this community is for you.

We live in a beautiful area and there are countless meetups for people who love wine, food, surfing and hiking (all great things) but how do people find deep connections with like-minded people?

If you’d rather be at home with a good book than party all night in a crowd, or if when you go to the beach it is to bask in the beauty and peacefulness of nature rather than take selfies for your social media, you are one of us. You believe life is to be lived rather than carefully curated online to gain validation from strangers.

We like substance, depth, genuine connections, kindness, learning, open-mindedness, personal growth, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, inner peace, intentionality, and literature.

People with a strong intellect and a warm heart may struggle around people who think happiness is drinking a cold beer while grilling meat and watching football. There is no judgment but extreme boredom when we feel alone in a middle of a group of people who only like surface-level conversations.

If you relate to any of this, I invite you to become a member. I will schedule various gatherings, and yes of course, food and wine can be included but pure hedonism and mindlessness will not be the glue that keeps us together.

Perhaps you are new to the area (like me) and were used to university towns so being in the country is a bit of an adjustment. You may miss cultural events, classical music, or jazz. Or maybe when someone invites you to see their house you can’t comprehend why there aren’t any bookshelves anywhere. For you, spending a couple of hours at a bookstore or public library feels like a treasure hunt.

Are you still reading? If so, please send me a message and let me know what activities you would like to see on the schedule and when you are available.

You are probably a highly educated empty-nester with high self-awareness, Gen X (born between 1965 and 1980), looking to find your tribe, where you can be your authentic self and build lifelong friendships.

Let's connect!
