What we’re about

DC617 is Boston's local DEF CON Group dedicated to hacking all the things. We meet around Boston throughout the year.

We are friendly and accommodating group of local hackers who get together once a month to talk, learn, share, and exchange ideas. We do not condone criminal activity.

Our events are open to any and all.

We welcome people of all levels; join us for an event whether you are an information security professional or just interested in information security, hacking, making, or computer/hardware/software stuff.

Some attend every month, some just attend once in a while. There are no dues or membership requirements or anything like that.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Get the opportunity to work on projects, share knowledge through either lightning talks or longer talks, give demos, do puzzles/challenges/CTF, or just try new things, with a group of experienced teachers and speakers with diverse backgrounds in the Boston area.

A NOTE ON PRIVACY

If you are concerned about privacy please note that we do not require any of your real information, but sometimes our venue does for security reasons (e.g. high rises especially like to "check you in" when you arrive).

IS THIS A CONFERENCE?

This meetup is not an official DEF CON event or conference. We are a local group of people interested in hacking topics. Some of us go to DEF CON in Las Vegas, NV or Beijing, China, and some of us do not or have not been to the conferences. Attendance at the conference is not required.
