# May: UnderValued: Equity in Education

Join us for an enlightening virtual panel discussion where educators and education adjacent experts delve into practical tactics for exploring equity in learning environments. Discover how reframing strengths such as resilience, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail can pave the way forward for diverse students. Uncover strategies to identify, develop, and value individual strengths, ensuring every student finds their rightful place for success despite potential setbacks.

Running from March-August, The DEI+N talks is in it's third year. We will have the best year yet. Standing for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Neurodiversity we will continue to explore the future of education if we shift our thinking, our doing and our making today.

## Speaker Panel:

Ruby “SunShine” Taylor is author of The UnConventional CEO: HOW TO BUILD WEALTH & JOY IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY. She is the CEO and Founder of Financial Joy School, a virtual educational platform and gaming company that provides diverse financial education and investment tools to Black and Brown youth and their families.

Djémilah HASSANI, social economy advocate and islander from a French island called Mayotte where social economy experimentation have been led to generate social change and open the island to the world (USA, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Greenland, Aruba, Belgium, South Africa etc.)

Denisha Allen is a Senior Fellow at the American Federation for Children and Founder of Black Minds Matter. Denisha previously served as School Choice and Youth Liaison to the Secretary of Education at the U.S. Department of Education and is an outspoken advocate for a change in schools.
