About Us
Welcome! We are an open innovation hub at the intersection of cellular mechanobiology, advanced electromechanical engineering, material science, and closed-loop control systems.
The human body is far more than a collection of isolated anatomical parts—it is a complex, continuous, fluid-filled tensegrity structure. Emerging research reveals that the human interstitium and fascial networks act as dynamic, body-wide communication pathways that respond directly to mechanical forces, fluid dynamics, and shear stress.
Our mission is to explore how custom hardware—from high-precision linear actuators to biomimetic materials—can interact with these biological networks to promote tissue healing, modulate cellular pathways, and optimize human performance.
While our founding team is developing stealth-stage biological tech, this group functions strictly as an open-source hardware, software, and research collaboration space. We gather to hack on peripheral tools, explore non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, build telemetry dashboards, and bridge the gap between biology and engineering.
Who Should Join?
We are actively cultivating an interdisciplinary, collaborative brain trust across Central Florida:
Hardware Engineers & Makers: Passionate about Voice Coil Actuators (VCAs), microcontrollers, sensor integration, high-resolution encoders, and 3D prototyping.
Software Developers: Skilled in C/C++, Python, real-time data telemetry dashboards, UI/UX for health-tech, and tuning PID controllers.
Biologists & Medical Researchers: Focused on fascial mechanics, tissue rheology, extracellular matrices, and mechanosensitive ion channels (e.g., PIEZO1/2).
Material Scientists: Interested in viscoelastic hydrogels, polymer nanocomposites, and biomimetic damping materials.
Students & Hobbyists: Anyone eager to learn, build, and collaborate across biology, software, and hardware.
What We Do
Our recurring monthly events alternate between three dynamic formats:
Deep-Dive Technical Talks: Lectures on topics like interstitial fluid dynamics, Lorentz force actuator optimization, and cellular mechanotransduction.
Lightning Rounds: 5-minute showcase sessions where members present micro-projects, code repositories, or hardware challenges.
Hands-On Dev Sprints & Hackathons: Collaborative work sessions using tools, oscilloscopes, and CAD software to build open-source peripheral hardware and control loops.
