Join Tabor Henderson for a morning of algorithm discussion and implementation. We'll go through all the steps needed to control the Sphero toy robot with Python. Then, we'll talk about neural networks, computer vision, and what it takes to start training our Sphero neural net. Requires only basic programming skills, command line competence in particular. Participants will need their own laptops with a version of Linux installed. If possible, bring a USB webcam as well.

We'll be downloading and installing a few packages, and I've built in time in the workshop for that to happen, but here are the links so people can get them installed beforehand, if desired:

Anaconda with Python 3.6 (400 mb so good to do beforehand)

Not strictly necessary: TensorFlow
While this class won't be deploying neural nets with TensorFlow, Tabor has expressed interest in teaching a follow-up class focusing more on developing neural nets and this first class will serve as a good foundation for that.
