We're bringing back Tabor Henderson with an introductory lab on neural networks for computer vision. No software installs are required, just bring a computer!

Agenda — You are welcome to come to one or both of these portions. We are adding a suggested donation for everything of $10, a portion of which goes back into denhac, but no registered participants will be turned away. Tabor creates content just for denhac! There will be a tip jar at the event.

11 am:
Introductory workshop to build a barebones neural network to classify handwritten digits, the “hello world” dataset of computer vision. We’ll be using the Kaggles kernel service which has easy setup, no teardown, and no fees. 12 pm-1pm:
Q&A on anything related to what we just learned, Python, machine learning, or computer vision. Tabor is also excited to help anyone who is interested in jumping into Kaggle’s real-world machine learning competitions. Helpful links:
Join Tabor’s slack ahead of time for any link drops and to discuss topics & post questions async

We will be using code from this gist:

About our instructor:
Tabor describes himself as a mathematician, data scientist, behavioralist, and artist, and fun fact, built cool toys at the old denhac space!
