Join us in-person to wrap what's been a very exciting and productive year for the Apache Druid project! We'll cover 2021 highlights and accomplishments, the Druid roadmap, a talk covering Druid components, as well as a use case talk from Charter Communications. And yes: there will be pizza, beer, wine and Druid swag! We'll also offer a Zoom link to those who would like to join us virtually for the presentations.

Talk #1: The year in review + Druid roadmap
Speaker bio: Rachel Pedreschi is the VP of Community & Developer Relations at Imply. A "Data Geek-ette”, Rachel is no stranger to the world of high-performance databases and data warehouses. She is a Vertica, Informix and Redbrick certified DBA on top of her work with Cassandra and has 20+ years of business intelligence and ETL tool experience. Rachel has an MBA from San Francisco State University and a BA in Mathematics from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Talk #2: A Quick Review of Apache Druid Components
Talk abstract: In this 20 min session we will describe the Apache Druid database architecture, reviewing all of the processes that make up Apache Druid. We'll discuss each component's purpose and how together, they provide resilience and scalability to both ingest and query data in real-time at any scale.
Speaker bio: Sergio Ferragut is a database veteran turned Technical Evangelist. His experience includes 16 years at Teradata in professional services and engineering roles. He has direct experience in building analytic applications spanning the retail, supply chain, pricing optimization and IoT spaces. Sergio has worked at multiple technology start-ups including APL and Splice Machine where he helped guide product design and field messaging. He joined Imply as a Technical Evangelist a few months ago.
