The Dasha System

Welcome to the Denver Astrology Meetup, where we discuss all things astrology!

The Dasa is a natal chart interpretation technique unique to Vedic Astrology and is the method of splitting our life into different planetary "chapters". When we enter a new Dasa, we get placed under the influence of a different planet in our horoscope.... the closest thing we have to this technique in Tropical Astrology is Annual Profections and/or Zodiacal Releasing. In January's meetup, we will discover the Vimshottari Dasa system which is the most popular version of this technique. The word "Vimshottari" is the Sanskrit word for the number "120".... In this system, the planetary chapters are laid out in a specific order with various lengths with their sum totaling uo to 120 years. Which chapter do you start in?? Well that depends on the placement of your moon, of course!

In this lecture you will learn: Intros to Vedic Astrology, Tropical vs. Vedic Astrology, Overview and Calculation of the Vimshottari Dasa, and Lunar Mansions. Then we will discuss chart examples of celebrities and their personal Dasa!

This session will be led by Zane (@nevilleastrology) and Rosalie (@AstroRosalie).

Please note: There is a sliding scale entry fee of $10–$45 per person, payable by cash, PayPal, or Venmo. We use a sliding scale to help make this event accessible to people of varying economic means. We kindly ask that you contribute the highest amount within that range that you can comfortably afford.

The cafe will be open, so feel free to come early or stay after to mingle and enjoy some snacks! Free street parking is available, as well as a paid lot across the street.
