Hello fellow astrology enthusiasts! ✨

For this month’s Denver Astrology Meetup, we’ll be exploring the zodiac through an ecological lens with poet Sara Slingerland Sheiner in her presentation, ASTRO-ECOLOGIES: A Poet’s Musings on the Sensuousness of the Zodiac.
Rather than approaching the twelve signs solely through personality traits, keywords, or abstract archetypes, this presentation will explore the signs as living environments and ecological systems. How might an exploration of the landscapes, climates, creatures, and resources of each sign give us a more deeply felt experience of our birth charts?

By looking at the natural world as a reflection of astrological archetypes, we can begin to consider not only what a sign represents, but how those particular places might feel, taste, smell, and sound.

Musings for this meetup include:
• Ecological and environmental symbolism within the zodiac
• The relationship between terrain, climate, and astrological archetypes
• How animals and their habitats can illuminate the symbolism of the signs
• The relationship between elemental & modal qualities and environmental conditions
• Examples of how observing the natural world can deepen our understanding of familiar zodiacal symbolism

Sara’s approach invites us to reconsider the zodiac as something more than a collection of abstract characteristics. This presentation will offer a new framework for thinking about familiar astrological symbolism and encouraging attendees to engage with the zodiac through observation, imagination, and the natural world.

Whether you’re a practicing astrologer, a student of the craft, or simply interested in the relationship between astrology and the world around us, this conversation offers an opportunity to look at the zodiac from an entirely different and sense-based perspective.

Hello fellow astrology enthusiasts! 🌙☀️✨

For our November Denver Astrology Meetup, we’ll be exploring the fascinating world of planetary timing with @the.bliss.seeker (Sam)!

Astrologers have long looked to the planets not only through their positions in the sky, but also through their relationship to time itself. This month’s presentation will explore the practice of planetary days and planetary hours, looking at how these systems were understood by astrologers & the different ways they can be incorporated into astrological practice today.

Together, we’ll explore:

• The seven planetary days of the week and their associations
• The Chaldean order
• How planetary hours relate to sunrise, sunset, and the changing length of the day
• Connections between planetary timing and astrology
• Practical examples of ways planetary days and hours can be used in astrological practice

Sam will guide us through the mechanics & applications of planetary timing, with an emphasis on understanding how these systems work and why they have remained an interesting part of astrological practice.

Whether you’re a practicing astrologer, a student, interested in historical approaches to astrology, or simply curious about the ways astrologers have connected the planets with particular moments in time, this meetup offers an opportunity to explore a fascinating and enduring area of astrological practice.

Hello fellow astrology enthusiasts! 🌙☀️✨

For our December Denver Astrology Meetup, we’ll be exploring one of the oldest applications of astrological practice: Medical Astrology.

Medical astrology was once deeply woven into the practice of astrology and medicine. For centuries, physicians studied astrology themselves or consulted astrologers as part of understanding the condition and constitution of their patients. While the role of astrology in medicine has changed considerably over time, traditions of medical astrology continue to be practiced in various cultures today.

This month, Lisa of @thedynamicsepf_astrology will lead us through an exploration of vitality: the individual’s inherent capacity to thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally. Each person comes into life with their own “vital flame,” and astrology can offer a framework for examining the strength and quality of that flame within the natal chart.

Together, we’ll gain a basic understanding of how traditional medical astrology approaches vitality, what factors in a natal chart can speak to an individual’s constitution and resilience, and how these principles can be thoughtfully incorporated into personal chart exploration and client work.

Rather than approaching the chart simply as a map of illness or diagnosis, this presentation will focus on the broader question of what supports a person’s ability to thrive & how astrology can help us explore that question.

Whether you’re a practicing astrologer, a student of traditional astrology, or simply curious about the historical relationship between astrology, health, and the human experience, this presentation offers an opportunity to explore an important and often overlooked dimension of the astrological tradition.
