Page to Screen @Decker Library
Details
Join me for a Page to Screen program exploring how stories shift from page to film. Held at the Denver Public Library Decker Branch in Platt Park, here’s the event description:
We’ll read the 1942 short story A Tree. A Rock. A Cloud by Carson McCullers and compare key themes, characters, and moments with its 2017 short film adaptation, directed by Karen Allen, which we will stream. In the story, a young paper boy encounters a lonely older man at roadside cafe. Initially wary, the boy sits and listens as the older man tells his story and theory on love.
I will be there at 1:00 for the 1:30 event with a Denver Cinema Club sign so we can gather and say hi (quietly) as we get our seats. There will be light refreshments served, but South Pearl St is nearby so we can walk a couple of blocks over to Kaos Pizza afterwards for a late lunch/early dinner if people are inclined.
