"Queen at Sea" @The Dairy Arts Center

Ugh... yes this is screening in one of the most feared, dreaded, and crunchiest of granola areas in all of Colorado: Boulder (gross!) but I'm sure this film is well-worth the long, troublesome journey to this hellscape. I also made this on a Saturday to lessen the impact of the drive to Boulder.

Q@S is the winner of the Silver Bear and Best Supporting Performance(s) at Berlin International Film Festival by the critically-acclaimed director Lance Hammer whose only other film Ballast was nominated for/won a bunch of awards in 2008, starring the reliable Juliette Binoche! It's gotten rave reviews and unfortunately doesn't look like Denver will be playing this anytime soon (or soon enough) as per usual

Synopsis: the film follows Amanda, a middle-aged woman struggling with her mother's dementia.

Depending on if ppl actually show up and are hungry, we can go somewhere nearby afterwards for a quick bite and a chat!
