The Dairy Arts Center's "Friday Night Weird" series has selected the delightful 2001 film The American Astronaut for an upcoming screening, and I'm excited to see this for the first time on a big screen.
A strangely mesmerizing space-western-musical that was clearly made with no budget but lots of love and creativity, this may be the most memorable thing you see this year.
The movie starts on the late side, but if anyone wants to meet up before the show for dinner and chat, let me know in the comments and we can arrange something. It's only an hour and a half, so won't keep you out unreasonably late on a Friday night.
