Inspired by the visual storytelling of silent film and vaudeville, Knuckle Sandwich transforms the everyday negotiations of love into a full-contact theatrical bout. Through physical comedy, slapstick, and absurdist storytelling, two lovers navigate the shifting balance between romance and rivalry, tenderness and competition, and the endless struggle to have the last word.
Writers and performers Meghan Frank and Buba Basishvili, co-founders of Theatre Artibus, are a real-life married couple whose personal and professional lives constantly collide. Drawing on their shared background in physical theatre and clown, the pair brings their unique comedic chemistry to the stage, exploring the hilarious contradictions of sharing a life, a creative practice, and, occasionally, the same opinion.
