About us
Welcome to Denver's ControlAI Action Group!
Our mission is to raise awareness among the community and lawmakers regarding the dangers of superintelligent AI and work to enact legislation banning it.
In May of 2023, over 500 AI researchers and leaders signed the following statement:"Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."
Since then, the rapid pace of AI development has resulted in increasingly capable systems that could soon surpass human capabilities, potentially resulting in human extinction.
Our Denver group meets to collaborate on action such as public outreach, educational events, and meetings with lawmakers.
We welcome everyone!
You do not need to have any AI experience or technical background. If you are concerned about AI extinction risk, this group is for you.
