Hi all! DDS is looking forward to having a show and tell for our September meetup at Fiction Beer Co!
We'll have a screen to present and are thrilled to have DS members present on cool projects they're working on or stories they've told with data. We're looking forward to hearing from folks about their work, the tools their using, and the impact of that work.
This show and tell will feature:
-CSU Extension: This year, the Colorado State University Master Gardener program turns 50, marking five decades of equipping volunteer gardening experts to answer all manner of questions about growing trees, lawns, shrubs, flowers, fruits and vegetables in our semiarid state. Mike Eckhoff, a DDS member who leads data analysis for the CSU extension, will be sharing a brief overview of the CSU Master Gardener Helpdesk dashboard and how it helps highlight the impact of the Master Gardener program.
-A Tableau dashboard highlighting Marvel movies. Touching on the highs, lows, everything in between since the 2008 launch of the Cinematic Universe. From the data prep and compilation (Python and Beautiful Soup) to the sleeper hits you'll want to watch, Charlie's presentation is sure to leave you excited for your next superhero movie night.
-Protecting critical infrastructure (roads, wastewater treatment plants etc) from a geospatial perspective and how it benefits the state of Colorado at large.
