Let's hang! We're hosting a low-key event to get to know everyone (and their projects) a little better. We'll talk about what we're jamming on, what we're learning, what we'd like to work on or learn, etc. We'll have a TV we'll be able to connect to via HDMI.

See you soon!

New Venue
We’ve got a new default location for the meetups going forward! They’ll be hosted at The Company, a membership-supported creative space in LoHi.

This location will also be the where we’ll host the annual demo night / art show / party, so if you’re interested in exhibiting, definitely come check out the space!

2nd floor. Go up the exterior stairs

What to bring
You don’t need to bring anything, but if you want to show us some of your work (very much encouraged), bring your laptop/sketchbook/etc. Don't forget to bring your charger and any adapters you might need to connect to the tv via HDMI. We’ll have a usb-c to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable.

Parking
There's free street parking and paid lots near the venue. Parking map here

Afterwards
Everyone's welcome to hang out and have a beer in the space after the event.

Previously…

  • I showed a web app for typesetting in a generative font (for our mixed-use creative space) and pen plotter prints of spiral spiderwebs made with Voronoi diagrams
  • Livvy showed us a web app for making trinary cypher sigils for members of our mixed-use creative space.
  • Trash Robot showed us open source scientific instruments that pretend to be keyboards and stream data to p5 sketches as keystrokes
  • Jacob showed us rock-paper-scissors-(but-more-complicated)-based cellular automata in NetLogo.
  • In the latest installment of his graphic engine he’s writing from scratch, Mason showed us vibey pixel shaders controlled by MIDI sliders.

Misc

  • We have a discord!
  • One of our previous events was a Show & Tell—basically this event except people prepared presentations beforehand. Check out the recap here.
  • After every meetup we add things people have mentioned to the group's link archive
