What we’re about

Do you… appreciate music?
Like, genuinely enjoy listening to it? Thinking about it? Talking about it a little too long? Great. You’re qualified.

This is a small, in-person record club for people who “like a little bit of everything” and actually mean it. Each week, we pick one album, listen to it ahead of time, then meet up and go song-by-song. We read lyrics, talk about moments that hit, share favorite tracks, lines, and feelings—its not about critiquing, ranking, or trying to sound smart. The goal is simple: notice what you love.

Come as you are. Bring your favorite tracks, half-formed opinions, and “I don’t know why but I love this part” moments. We’re here to make new friends and appreciate music—together, in person, without overthinking it.

First Meetup: In Rainbows – Radiohead
This is an in-person record club where we listen to one album together and talk about it as we go. We’ll have some drinks, go track by track through In Rainbows, and share what stood out—lyrics, moments, feelings, and favorite parts.

Going forward, the group will choose what we listen to, which means the range stays wide—classic or contemporary, big releases or underground, English, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, whatever!

Before you come:
Please listen to the album beforehand if you can. The more time you spend with it—especially the lyrics—the more fun the conversation tends to be.

How the meetup will go:
This is our first meeting, so we’ll try a simple format and see how it feels.

  • We’ll start with some casual chit-chat as people arrive
  • Then we’ll jump into the album and go song by song
  • As we go, we’ll talk about lyrics, musical moments, production choices, and anything that caught your ear
  • Toward the end, we’ll share favorite songs, favorite moments, and favorite lines
  • I'll bring some beer/beverages to share with the group. Feel free to bring your own if you’d like!

The goal, put simply, is just to notice what you love and share it.

We’ll also use this first meetup to help decide what album we listen to next. At the beginning, we’ll lean into bigger, well-known albums that are great for discussion, and over time branch out into weirder, deeper, more niche picks, so come with ideas!
