Colorado is one of the most beautiful places on earth. If you love exploring nature and capturing its beauty through photography, you’ve found the right community. This group is a space for nature and wildlife photographers—both professionals and beginners alike—to connect, share, and grow together.
Come share your photos, exchange knowledge, and build meaningful connections. Whether you’re shooting with a $5,000 camera, an old phone, or even a disposable, if you have a passion for the outdoors and photography, you’re always welcome here.
We welcome photographers of all experience levels, from those just starting out to seasoned pros. Our group combines meetups to showcase and discuss our work with planned hiking outings, where we can venture out together to capture the beauty of Colorado’s landscapes and wildlife.
📸 Golden Hour Hike & Shoot at Castle, Meadow, and Tower Trails

Join us for an evening hike and golden hour photo session at one of Castle Rock’s most scenic trails. The Castle, Meadow, and Tower loop is a moderate 2.7-mile trail featuring beautiful views, rock formations, and open meadows—perfect for capturing nature at its finest as the sun sets.
👟 Hike Duration: Expect to hike for 2–3 hours, depending on group pace. We’ll be stopping along the way to take photos during golden hour, so be ready to shoot!
⚠️ Important Notes:
- This is a moderate hike with some elevation gain. Please assess your physical ability before signing up.
- You are responsible for bringing your own gear (camera, lenses, water, snacks, headlamp if you plan to stay late, etc.).
- Cell service may be limited. Please arrive on time—5:30 PM sharp.
- This event is weather dependent. Check the event page a few hours before the meetup to confirm it’s still on.

Summer is in full swing, and the gardens are at their lushest and most vibrant. This is the third meetup in our Denver Botanic Gardens Photography Excursion Series, where we document how the gardens evolve through the seasons. By now, the gardens have transformed into a lush, colorful paradise, filled with thriving perennials, towering sunflowers, roses in full bloom, and deep green foliage.
We will meet later in the day to take advantage of the soft evening light and golden hour, which will enhance the depth, colors, and textures of the summer landscape.
📍 Meeting Spot & Timing
We will meet immediately after you enter the gardens through the main gate. Please be on time, as we will start moving at 5:45 PM sharp. If you arrive late, you will need to find us inside the gardens.🌿 What to Expect

Now, it’s time to document the grand finale of nature’s color transformation.
To make the most of golden hour and sunset, we will meet earlier at 4:30 PM and start moving at 4:45 PM sharp. Sunset is at 6:24 PM, so this timing ensures we capture the warm, golden glow that enhances the deep autumn tones.
