Please join me for this medium Buffalo Creek loop. It will start at the lower lot on Buffalo Creek Road at 9:00 am sharp, then climb up the road to Morrison Creek, then to Shinglemill, to the Colorado Trail. Then west, crossing back over Buffalo Creek Road to Mouache (previously Red Skin), Eos Mill Road, Gas House, Charlies Cutoff, Homestead, Sandy Wash, then back to the parking lot. It’s a big ride. 23+ miles. A good bit of moderate climbing but very little technical. Lots of flow. Mostly Green and Blue. Bring lots of food and water. Don’t forget the jacket in case of rain. At the moment, the forecast is for the mid 70s. This will be a no drop ride but because or the distance and climbing, you should be in relatively good shape. Plan on 3-4 hours depending on the speed and size of the group.
Because of the new parking arrangements, I recommend meeting at The Fort Restaurant at 8:00 am and carpooling with as few vehicles as possible. I can carry 3 bikes plus my own. Parking reservations can be made online at ParkMobile to avoid any WiFi issues at the lot. I drive a Gray Toyota Highlander and ride a blue Trek.
Post ride libations will be optional.
