**Presentation Title:** API Security: A CISO Perspective

**Presentation Details:** Enterprises manage thousands of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Many APIs are not routed through a proxy such as an API Gateway or Web Application Firewall (API);

therefore, those APIs are not monitored, audited, and may be vulnerable to mistakes or bad actors. Enterprise security teams are playing catch-up when it comes to API security. How are CISOs and security leadership developing governance round API security and incident response readiness?

Gina Yacone, Advisory CISO Trace3

Currently serving as an Advisory Chief Information Security Officer
(CISO) for Trace3, Gina Yacone directs information security strategies within the company's mountain state region. Additionally, she collaborates with Trace3's clients, providing expert counsel on their existing cybersecurity infrastructure and offering insights on the evolving landscape of cybersecurity. Her previous experience as a CISO spans various sectors including healthcare, biotech, higher education, local government, start-ups and tech where she led the design and implementation of robust security blueprints.

Gina contributed to a startup that built a Security Operations Center (SOC), assisting in the development of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and threat intelligence services. This startup was later acquired by Sophos. 

Before delving into the world of information security, Gina held a license as a private investigator with Barry A. Cohen, P.A. in Tampa, FL. Here, she honed her skills in handling high-profile, complex litigation. 

As a continuous learner, Gina graduated with a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy and Risk Management (CPRM) in May 2023, and hold 7 cybersecurity certifications.

Today, Gina continues to impact the cybersecurity field, often found
sharing her knowledge at networking gatherings or delivering talks,
workshops or keynote presentations at conferences.
