Thinking Functional with Scala

Details
This talk is designed to help programmers cross over into thinking in a functional way. We are going to look at a few simple examples of how to approach problems from a functional perspective to simplify the complexity of solving problems.
First up will be a simple but powerful common line parsing class that does not require a third party library but allows very powerful parsing and handling in very .
Then we will go through a coding Kata from the Web that has many languages for choose from. While this Kata was originally designed to discuss OO re-factoring, I will go through a more functional approach to solve the problem and make the code much simpler to comprehend and reason about.
