What we’re about
Welcome to Path to Freedom, a weekly discussion group that meets in the home center Little Rishikesh. Samskaras (sanskrit) are mental and emotional imprints and tendencies residing in our pre-cognitive consciousness, usually leftovers from early development years. Samskaras typically manifest as habitual negative or uncomfortable reactions. We use real-life examples from group participants and through investigation, we uncover, discover, and discard these unwanted habitual reactions, utilizing basic spiritual principles. We discover the freedom of having a choice as to how to respond to the world as opposed to being driven by our conditioning.
The group discussion is facilitated by Tom Fuhrmann, long time practitioner, meditation guide, and kirtan leader. We gather at 7pm and do a little chanting and meditation before the discussion. Our experience is that this prelude to the discussion has a way of bringing our hearts together and creates a supportive field of kindness and camaraderie.
This group began about a year ago as a response to the recognition that spiritual seekers are often challenged with the various roadblocks that seem to crop up relentlessly as we move forward with our practice. We believe that this is no accident and that these unwanted tendencies reveal themselves for the precise purpose of being revealed and discarded. If you have any questions about this practice or the meetup, we're happy to visit and provide more information. Call or text Tom at 303-435-3152. Namaste.
