Mesa Trail (Boulder) North to South!

7 miles one way with 1,300' elevation gain

A scenic one way trip from Chautauqua to the South Mesa TH in the heart of the Flatirons. We'll meet at the Ranger Cottage (has restrooms), begin on the Bluebell Road, and then join the Mesa Trail which we'll stay on for the duration of the hike. Expect mostly rolling terrain with one sustained climb in the area near Bear Canyon. This is a nice hike.

Please bring your pack, versatile layers, fluids, snacks, and good footwear. Although I'm expecting a lot of drier trail, spikes are always a good item to pack this time of year and we may need them.

After we reach the South Mesa TH, a shuttle bus will bring us back to where we started at the Chautauqua Ranger Cottage. There is no cost for the bus.

Afterwards, a quick trip east on Baseline will take us to the World Famous Dark Horse for post hike refreshments.
