Dear colleagues and fellow scientists and animal advocates,
First Gentleman Marlon Reis and I would like to invite you to an event we are co-hosting at the Governor's Residence, 400 E. 8th Ave. in Denver, on the one-health implications of commercial octopus farming. The event will feature guest speakers Dr Jennifer Jacquet, from University of Miami, and Dr Mikki McComb-Kobza, from Ocean First Institute, who are leading experts on this topic. We will discuss the potential environmental, animal welfare, and public health impacts of proposed octopus farming and the policy efforts to stop it.
