Weekend Camping at Staunton State Park...in October

Details

Alright, Outdoorsy Ghouls and Goblins!
Get Ready to Camp...if you Dare!

Hey there, fellow lovers of fresh air and frights! Guess what time of the year it is or going to be? That's right, its October, the month of pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters, and most importantly, spooky season! And what better way to celebrate Halloween than by pitching a tent under the creepy, crawly stars?

Staunton State Park: Where Nature Meets Nightmares (Kind Of)
This year, we're heading to Staunton State Park for a camping trip that's guaranteed to be spooktacular...or at least mildly unsettling. I'm talking cobwebs in the trees (courtesy of yours truly), campfire stories that'll make you question every rustle in the bushes, and maybe, just maybe, a ghostly visitor or two. (Okay, probably just me in a sheet, but still!)

Why Staunton State Park?
- Beautiful Scenery: Even if you're not into the whole spooky thing (shame on you!), Staunton State Park is gorgeous. Think colorful fall foliage, towering rock formations, and crisp mountain air.
- Hiking Trails: We'll be hitting the trails during the day to work up an appetite for all the Halloween candy. Don't worry, I'll make sure we get lost at least once to add to the suspense.
- Spooky Atmosphere: Okay, I'll admit, the park itself isn't haunted (as far as I know). But with a little help from your friendly neighborhood Halloween enthusiast (that's me!), we'll transform it into a spooky wonderland.

What to Expect (If You Dare)
- Spooky Decorations: I'm going all out with the Halloween Decorations. Think scarecrows, ghosts, and spiders.
- Campfire Stories: Gather 'round the campfire for tales of terror that will keep you up all night. Or, you know, just mildly entertain you.
- Costume Contest: Come dressed in your best Halloween costume for a chance to win a prize! (The prize is bragging rights...but still!)
- General Spookiness: Be prepared for jump scares, creepy noises, and maybe a few surprises along the way. I promise it'll all be in good fun...mostly.

What to bring (Besides Your Courage)
- Camping Gear: Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, the usual.
- Food: anything you want and assortment of Halloween candy.
- Warm Clothes: It's October in the mountains, so be prepared for chilly weather.
- Pets: Pets are welcome.
- Halloween Costume: The spookier, the better!
- Flashlight: For navigating the dark trails...and for shining in your friend's face when they tell a scary story.
- Sense of Humor: Because let's face it, things are going to get weird.

So, are you brave enough to join me for a spooky camping adventure at Staunton State Park? If so, sign up now! But be warned: this trip is not for the faint of heart...or those who don't appreciate a good scare.

More info to come the closer we get to October.

See you this spooky season!

Happy Spooky Trails!
