DENVER WRITERS BOOK CLUB: The Trial by Franz Kafka
Details
"Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything wrong, he was arrested."
We’re diving into the surreal, frustrating, and brilliant world of Franz Kafka’s The Trial. Come prepared to discuss why we’re all guilty of something, why the Court never answers, and whether or not the ending actually makes sense.
Discussion Points to Ponder:
- Is Josef K. actually innocent?
- The role of the women in the novel as "helpers."
- The Parable of the Law (Before the Law)
Try to finish it, or you’ll be sentenced to "indefinite postponement."
Our book club meets every fourth Thursday at Slater's 50/50, 3600 Blake Street, Denver. New attendees will be eligible to select our next book.
Note: We get free validated parking in the garage at 3847 North Downing Street.
(Be sure to join the Denver Writers Workshop on Meetup and Facebook for more information on those activities.)
